Konditional Präsens Verlaufsform (Present Continuous Conditional)

Form

Im Konditional II kann die Verlaufsform des Konditional Präsens verwendet werden.

If -Satz (Bedingung) Hauptsatz (Ergebnis)
If + Perfekt present continuous conditional
If this thing happened that thing would be happening.

Funktionsweise

Die Verlaufsform drückt unfertige oder andauernde Ereignisse oder Situationen aus, die das mögliche Ergebnis einer irrealen Begebenheit sind.

Beispiele
  • I would be working in Italy if I spoke Italian. (But I don't speak Italian, so I am not working in Italy)
  • She wouldn't be living with Jack if she lived with her parents. (But she is living with Jack and not with her parents).
  • You wouldn't be smiling if you knew the truth. (But you are smiling because you don't know the truth.)

Das Konditional Präsens in Verlaufsform (present continuous conditional)

Das 'present continuous conditional' aller Verben besteht aus drei Teilen:
would + be + Partizip Präsens
Das Partizip Präsens bildet sich aus dem Verbstamm und der Endung -ing.

Subjekt + would + be + Partizip Präsens
He would be staying
They would be going
